Yeah, it's something I'll probably like the more I listen to it. But I only allowed myself one listen until I get the album, lol.

The "turn the heat up, my sole ignites, consumed by the fire...". They do heavy auto-tuning; taking it up a step each time he says it. It is something new, I just have a huge bias against auto-tune anything, lol. One of my pet-peaves. It is still a pretty raw track. It will just take a few more listens.

I went ahead and listened to the entire new version of "On Fire"; to keep me from listening to the whole album, haha; And, I was a bit shocked. The two are VERY different.

It turns out, I like the demo version better. Just too many effects for my liking. And I really didn't like the Auto-tune part. Though the slight changes in the guitar part were pretty cool. I also like the way it starts out more than the demo.

Murdered Love Commercial on 7/5/2012 3:41:57 AM Show/Hide

Don't know if anyone else has caught it, but I was sitting in my room with the TV on and suddenly heard Lost In Forever. I look at the TV, and sure enough, it's a commercial for Murdered Love.

I'm extremely happy to see decent promotions being put forward for this album. It did come on TV pretty late, but I was still excited to see it. The two songs it plays are Lost In Forever and Higher. All while the Lost In Forever music video plays in the background.

Just thought I'd share this with everybody to keep you on the lookout. Hopefully, we'll see a lot of this commercial this week.

Man, when it comes to favorite albums it's just too hard of a question. Haha.

Testify is my favorite along the lines of just the music, because Truby is a genius when it comes to subtleties in guitar. Southtown is my favorite as far as just awesome tracks that I can blast in my car. Satellite is like my feel-good favorite. Self-titled just has this awesome vibe that's hard to describe...it's like the music matches the old-fashioned, antiqued album artwork, it's hard to explain, haha.

And this album, I'm thinking is going to be my Southtown CD's best friend. Murdered Love is definitely something I just want to get in the car and drive to.

Blog Post: Beautiful Lyrics

Thanks to payableondeath1 for corrections! -

you stand with the gun in your hand
staring at the wall with a look so sad
thinking about who really cares
and will they even notice if I just disappeared
in one bang, blood rushed to the head
shed rather fly through the sky than walk with the dead
she stays high while the world goes by
just another day here waiting to die

but life is beautiful
share a little love with the whole wide world
every boy and girl sing along
when we sing why-o,
why-o

and she cries but her man denies
its funny how love comes with so many lies
he said he’d never do it again
so she puts on a smile and starts to pretend
and she hides all the pain inside
while filling up her arms with pretty little lines
she cuts with no intent to kill
this time she didn’t do it
but someday she will

but life is beautiful
so share a little love with the whole wide world
every boy and girl sing this song
when we sing why-o,
why-o
and hey, you’re beautiful
and there’s enough love for the whole wide world
every boy and girl sing along
when we sing why-o,
why-o
and hey,
I know that you can find a way
you’re beautiful to me
no matter what the people say
its all gonna be okay
you’re beautiful to me

too weak, too weary to try
too angry inside, well so am I
I’m all alone with nobody else
I’m so in need of help, I keep reminding myself

that life is beautiful
so share a little love with the whole wide world
every boy and girl sing along
when they sing why-o,
why-o
and hey, you’re beautiful
and there’s enough love for the whole wide world
every boy and girl sing the song
when they sing why-o,
why-o
and hey,
I know that you can find a way
you’re beautiful to me
no matter what the people say
it’s all gonna be okay
you’re beautiful to me
it’s all gonna end someday
it’s all gonna fade away
you’re beautiful to me
you’re beautiful to me
you’re beautiful to me
you’re beautiful to me
you’re beautiful to me

The structure and content is very similar to ICRE. Including the more than 2 verse structure. And though I liked the guitar part for ICRE a bit more, I like beautiful more as a song. Partially because it, along with the rest of this album, is produced so much better than Angels and Serpents. I honestly think WAASD would've been a much better album if it was produced by Howard. Almost all of my friends had the same complaint that WAASD sounded like a home studio production.

Dude, same here. The musical aspect is my favorite part. The lyrics haven't really settled with me yet, at first I thought they were kinda cheesy. But the music and melody on this song is sick. So much old-style funk-reggae.

My friend has the promo disc for Murdered Love. I'm just posting what I hear on it. And I only post lyrics of songs they've played live or already released to keep it fair. It's tough not to listen to the whole CD. But when it's only a week or so away, I can do it. Haha.
On Fire on 6/28/2012 6:46:06 PM Show/Hide
I actually like the new mix of On Fire quite a bit. Sonny sings it a bit differently, and the guitar has been changed up a bit. It will also be interesting to hear the verses with the new vocal filter. Gives it a slight jolt of new, without changing how raw the song is.
Lost In Forever on 6/28/2012 6:45:01 PM Show/Hide
I'm sure everyone noticed the lack of screams on the sample. It's weird because the single version has screams and the album doesn't seem to. I like it nonetheless, just got used to the screams being there.
Higher on 6/28/2012 6:43:36 PM Show/Hide
One of the three really "melodic" songs on the album. This has potential written all over it. The chorus is very radio-friendly, a bit reminiscent of Alive in subject matter and style, and the verses are pretty sweet too.

Overall, it's my favorite out of the songs I hadn't heard any of.
Murdered Love on 6/28/2012 6:40:21 PM Show/Hide
Murdered Love is probably the second or third heaviest track on the album. I love that it is structure in complete poetry. Instead of being lyrical flow, each line is the same metaphor. The poem works great, fitting into the subject matter of the day of the crucifixion.
EYEZ on 6/28/2012 6:39:03 PM Show/Hide
Possibly the heaviest track on the CD; and it is definitely my favorite choice for the first track. I love the fact that this song kicks off the CD.
