I preordered my cd's this morning. I love Scotty's choice of Elvis' Santa Claus is Back in Town, in fact, I love every single song on there! I know this cd will go platinum!

Thanks Lynne for the clip of the Lieber and Stoller bio. That sure was Colonel Parker! And look at the great Christmas song that came from it that our Scotty is going to make his own, just like he did with Thats Alright Mama!

I truly think "The King" would approve!

"Santa Claus Is Back In Town," one of the songs on Scotty's CHRISTMAS WITH SCOTTY MCCREERY, is the opening track of Elvis Presley's 1957 ELVIS' CHRISTMAS ALBUM, which Wikipedia reports is the best-selling Christmas album of all time in the US. (SO FAR!)

Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller wrote this song for Elvis in 1957 just after they finished working with him on Jailhouse Rock. Elvis' producers literally called at the last minute and asked for one song to fill in a Christmas album.

As recounted in the book Hound Dog: The Leiber & Stoller Autobiography, Leiber and Stoller showed up at the studio and "Colonel" Tom Parker scowled, "You got the song?" Leiber and Stoller explained that they couldn't have, as they had just gotten the call and had rushed right over. Parker sneered, "Write it right now!" and the songwriters went into the mixing room. Fifteen minutes later, they walk out with this song. Parker barks, "What took you so long?" and the songwriting time responds - wait for it - "Writer's block!" Parker didn't even crack a smile.

I think this album will go over big and not with just country music fans. There are a lot of Christians out there that will love the way Scotty puts his heart and soul into his music. Also, he is so great doing cheery & funny songs. The appeal of this album will be great!

The X'mas album cover is very nice and Scotty looks damned handsome with that come hither look and quiet smile. In fact, everything about Scotty is great.
I am not a Christian but I will order this album just to hear him sing with his great and smooth voice just as I had also bought his CAD. With that voice, it will be a good and tender listening.

Waiting for Amazon to send me a notice for pre-order. Can't wait either. Is tomorrow Oct 16? lol

Scotty's cover photo disappeared from my screen. Hopefully it will be restored. On the pre-order, we kniw from CLEAR AS DAY pre-orders that there is a gap of time between the date the album is released/hits the stores and the date our Pre-Order arrives.

CLEAR AS DAY was released on Tues, Oct 4, and I received the Pre-ordered CD from Walmart on Fri, Oct 7--a 3-day torturous lag.

This time I will pre-order for all family, friends, and my extra copies but buy one CD at Walmart on the OCTOBER 16 release date so no lag time for me!

I do not like that I will be depleting a Walmart CD that someone else could buy, but hopefully Walmart will stock this album Big Time--a zillion copies--and not run out this time!

Just the picture of Scotty will sell the album! He looks so good. I can't wait to get the album! I'll have the song 'Mary Did You Know' running through my mind all day now! I sure hope it's on the album.

Love the picture on the album cover. I've been waiting for this since last Christmas!!! Anxiously waiting to see which songs Scotty put on the album, I know I will love them. Would love to buy it today. October 16th seems so far away.
